What is heat transfer vinyl?
Heat transfer vinyl is a garment decorating material that can be cut and heat pressed onto a variety of different fabrics. There are many different colours and variations of heat transfer vinyl. There are solid colours, printed patterns, textured materials, glitter, metallic, glow in the dark, reflective and many more. Most of them are made of a durable polyurethane based film that makes up the cuttable vinyl. They all have a coated backing that when heated at a high temperature will adhere to the item (usually some sort of apparel).
At Phoenix Embroidery we offer options for both full colour and single colour transfers on an extensive selection of Siser brand heat transfer vinyl in a wide array of colours. This material is thinner than most heat transfer materials and its pressure-sensitive carrier allows for detailed designs that adhere exceptionally well to cotton, uncoated polyester and poly-cotton blends. These high-quality transfer films allow photo-realistic digital printing.
The benefits of using heat transfers over embroidery or screen printing is the low setup costs, shorter turnaround times and lower minimums.
